I have spend most of my life in Štúrovo. Although it is not the biggest city (actually it is kind of small- 12000 people) many people I know go here on their summer holidays. These places are also reachable from Budapest, Nové Zámky and surrounding area as well.
Esztegom Basilica
I absolutely adore this place. If I didn't went there like a gazillion times, I went there 0. It is in Hungary literally the first thing you see after you cross the border. The best view is from the Štúrovo's side of the Danube, where you can get the best photos. I recommend you to use the stairs and go to the cupola, because you can see the entire area from there. There is also a some kind of a Church museum (you can see the pope robes and stuff like that...) Both the stairs to cupola and the museum are needed to be paid before entrance, and the actual access to the Basilica is free. These are actually some of the pictures I gathered thru out my life in Štúrovo.

Stroll around old streets of Esztegom
Well this one is kind of obvious but you are already in Esztegom you might as well see the city a little bit :)....

Visegrád castle
This beautiful castle definitely deserves your attention, and since it's only around 23 kilometres away this is a perfect time to visit it. It was built in the 1200's and thru the time it has managed to remain some of the things from medieval times. The castle it self has a museum which you have to pay for to get an access...

Budapest
Well this one is kind of obvious. I am planning to do a separate post about Budapest, since there are many things to do there. So stay tuned for that!

Európske nádvorie Komárno
Komárno is about 50 kilometres away from Štúrovo, and I think that you have to see this square. There are more than 40 buildings and each one of them represents one country. That means that it has characteristics structural style for that country. You can see there countries like Whales, Ireland, Iceland and Greenland.

Szentendre city
If you are looking for a city with loads of colourful houses and cozy streets, than Szentendre is right for you. It's a really old city but it looks so adorable so you need to make sure that you don't miss it on your trip!

Szentendre open - air museum
This is completely perfect for people who are more interested how people lived in the past in Hungary. They gathered many many houses from all over Hungary and then re-build them to create this open-air museum. There is also a train that takes you around the museum, and I highly recommend it. I have been to this museum quite a lot of times, but there are still new things that surprise me when I come around.
